THE DINING ROOM
Welcome to Purnon’s Dining Room.
This grand room has never had a fire place. At the end of the 18th century it was heated by a ceramic heater. Today two hydronic radiators keep this room warm in winter. One of them houses a small cupboard that was used for keeping plates warm in the 20th century.
When the chateau was first constructed a copper fountain for washing hands before eating sat close to the windows.
Imagine the splendid dinners that must have been hosted in this room!
