THE CHAPEL

Despite its fragile state, we can still see the grandeur of Purnon’s chapel. Looking from the balcony, we can see the painting of the Annunciation above the altar.

Niches housed the two saints, Saint Achard and Saint Blaise. You can view the saints in the statue museum in the eastern outbuilding.

Two stain glass windows depict a Virgin and Child on the western wall and Saint Joseph with his white lily on the eastern wall.

Two doors flank the altar. One leads to the sacristy where the priest would have kept his robes. The other is not a normal door at all. It’s a blind door that protects the symmetry in the chapel.
